Trusting Him Who Turns Hearts of Kings and Kids

In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge.
— Proverbs 14:26 (ESV)

How We Minister to Our Children...

Sovereign Hope places a strong emphasis on the spiritual development of children within the church. Our desire is to strengthen the family by seeking to train and equip fathers and mothers to understand how to effectively lead, discipline and disciple their children according to God’s Word. In order to accomplish this, we strive to keep as many adults in our services as possible. This often means children are with us in our weekly gatherings for portions of the service. Our hope is to impact kids long term by having focused biblical study while at church, without jeopardizing the spiritual development of the adults. Ultimately, we believe that the greatest spiritual impact in the life of a child will take place at home. Therefore, it is our goal to structure our Sundays with the spiritual development of parents as a main focus, while also ministering to the needs of the children as well. Our hope is to provide families with small children the opportunity to worship alongside each other. While at times this may be a growing process, we believe the long term benefits of children observing their parents humbly yielding to God are worth it. Our services are casual in nature and allow our children opportunity to grow and adjust to worshipping with us.

Youth and Kids' Class Times: (Classes are Available but not Required)

10-10:45am (Youth Discipleship Class): Our students 6th-12th grade meet in a small group setting to discuss God's Word together. The class is led by individuals who have a heart to make disciples and teach our students how to walk with Jesus through their own time in the Word. The class focuses on teaching this age group to develop spiritual disciplines like Scripture memorization and Bible study into their daily lives.

10-10:45am (Kids' Class): Those children in 1st - 5th grade have the opportunity to attend a Bible study that is designed to meet their specific age needs. We strive to teach our children an understanding of the Bible as a whole through the story of Jesus Christ. We are currently working through The Gospel Story Bible in conjunction with the Long Story Short devotions, both written by Marty Machowski. Children are welcomed back to our service for the singing and the corporate study of God's Word.

Nursery care for Newborns - 5 year olds (Kindergarten) is provided for the entire service.

During our youth and kids' classes, our adults meet for prayer and small group discussion related to the sermon for that particular week.
